The hearts of Jesus and Mary cannot be dissociated

The two hearts of Jesus and Mary, by their love for humankind, are as united as they were when the Baby Jesus was developing in the Blessed Virgin’s womb. Therefore devotion to the Sacred Heart and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary cannot be dissociated.

The joint devotion to the hearts was first formalized in the 17th century by Saint John Eudes who organized the scriptural, theological and liturgical sources relating to the devotions and obtained the approbation of the Church, shortly before to the visions of Saint Marguerite Marie Alacoque in Paray-le-Monial.

On September 22, 1891, Pope Leo XIII, in the Encyclical Octobri Mense, declared:

"With equal truth may it be also affirmed that, by the will of God, Mary is the intermediary through whom is distributed unto us this immense treasure of mercies gathered by God, for mercy and truth were created by Jesus Christ. Thus as no man goes to the Father but by the Son, so no man goes to Christ but by His Mother."

And Fatima completes the revelation of Paray-le-Monial…
