June 29 – Our Lady of Laghet (Laghet, France)

No one who perseveres in their devotion to Mary goes to Hell

Saint Dominic was preaching in Carcassonne (Southern France) when a heretic was brought to him. Because he had criticized the devotion to the Rosary, the man was now possessed by demons.

The saint ordered the demons to say if all that he preached about the Rosary was true. They cried out, "Listen, Christians! All that this man, our enemy, says about Mary and the Rosary, is perfectly true.” And they added: “Mary, the Mother of God, is our greatest enemy. She overturns all our schemes. Without her, we would have destroyed the whole Church a thousand times.”

They also admitted that they had no power over the servants of Mary, and that there were many who, in spite of their sins, saved themselves from eternal death by invoking the name of Mary. They ended by saying: “We are forced to declare that none of those who persevere in the devotion to Mary and the Holy Rosary go to Hell, because the Blessed Virgin obtains a true repentance for sinners before their death.”
