June 25 – Our Lady of Graces (Forli, Italy, 1548)

Vanquished by the name of Mary alone

As the wax melts before the fire, so the demons lose their strength against the souls who often remember the name of Mary, who invoke it with devotion, and who seek to imitate her, says Saint Bonaventure. Ah! How the demons tremble on simply hearing the name of Mary, says St. Bernard.

As men are overcome with fear when thunder strikes beside them, so the demons are crushed by the name of Mary alone.
