This unthinkable miracle did happen!

“I will believe in miracles only if you prove to me that an amputated leg can grow back: this has never happened, and you will never be able to do it.” This was an imprudent pronouncement made by a famous atheistic scholar, because this unthinkable miracle actually did happen in Spain, on March 29, 1640, through the intercession of Our Lady of Pilar. On that day, a young farmer recovered his right leg amputated two years before, which had been buried in the hospital cemetery.

The rigorous historical investigation leaves no doubt as to the authenticity of the facts: the available records of the operation, the "burial" of the leg, the police reports and the conclusions of the court officially acknowledging the miracle, were collected by Vittorio Messori (1) in an astonishing book that has become a bestseller in many countries.
