June 24 – Our Lady of Miracles (Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, France) – Nativity of St John the Baptist

Mary, show me your Son

As you are about to recite the Rosary, holding it in your hands, go ahead and tell the Blessed Virgin: "Mary, show me your Son." Mary is the mother of all of us, and she knows her own Son better than anyone else. Let her take your hand, and reveal to your heart the whole Mystery of Christ.

Contrary to what people often assume, the Rosary is not a prayer of praise to Mary, but a path to Christ. Each decade is a meditation on a different mystery of the life of Christ. While the ten "Hail Mary" beads slide through our fingers, we immerse ourselves into one of these mysteries.

As one bead follows the next, the Rosary takes us through scenes of Christ’s life - the Annunciation of the Angel to Mary, the birth of the child Jesus, the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan, the Transfiguration, the Last Supper, the Agony of the Lord, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, the descent of the Holy Spirit, etc – all so rich in significance and spiritual depth.

By praying the rosary with all possible devotion, in your heart try to look at each mystery of the life of Christ as if it were a direct gift from Mary.
