June 4 – Pentecost – Our Lady of Graces (Italy, 1503) - 1979 : First journey of John Paul II to Poland, to the Shrine of Czestochowa

On Pentecost, Mary is waiting

Mary's ardent prayer attracts the living Spirit onto the Apostles, those whom Jesus chose to found his Church.

Mary leads to Jesus. She is also the one who brings us back to him. We need her, in order to live out and put into practice what we have discovered in the living presence of Jesus.

Mary, our Mother, will bring us to glory. She invites us to enter into the mystery of the glory of Pentecost. On this day of Pentecost, Mary is waiting: as she did at the Annunciation, and at the Resurrection, she is waiting in Hope.

But at Pentecost, she no longer waits alone: she is waiting with the Apostles. Mary then attracts the manifestation of God on earth. But she is no longer alone in receiving the coming of the Spirit.

Her ardent prayer attracts the living Spirit onto the Apostles, whom Jesus chose to found his Church.
