My Father’s Faith Obtained the Miracle

The following is the testimony of a Marist brother: The Blessed Virgin protected me in my early years when I was two years old and found myself bedridden in my crib, the victim of a paralysis that did not allow me any movement. Any change of position made me moan and burst out in strident tears. It was very painful for my parents, my brothers and sisters, especially the night during their hours of sleep. One night, my father couldn't stand it anymore. He got up from his bed, resolved. Without saying a word, he went down to the stable, the saddled Rojilla, the mare, and left the house. Nobody dared to say a word. According to what my father told my mother and what she told me several times, my father took his leather jacket, mounted his horse and left the house, heading towards the Blessed Virgin's shrine, which is very venerated in the north of the Province. He knocked on the door of the presbytery, asked for a lantern and the key to the shrine sanctuary. He left his horse in the stable, and walked, bare-foot, up to the shrine that was a good kilometer away. He made his request and his promise to the Virgin, and once he had done so, he returned to the presbytery, put his shoes back on, gave the keys and the lantern back, and, thanking the priest who offered him to stay the night, he hopped on his horse and made his way down the road of the village. It was about 7 o'clock in the morning and dawn was breaking when he got back home. He attached the mare to the kitchen window sill and went directly up to his son's crib. There, he burst into tears seeing me sitting upright, leaning against the wall. His son did not cry any more: he was cured. Everyone got out of bed, amazed, and peace returned to my father's house. Obviously, this event was very important to me. The Good Mother has continued to protect me during my times of hesitations and the difficult moments of my life...
