The Very Sweet Name of Mary

The Song of Songs allows us to believe that at the Assumption of the Virgin the angels inquired about her name at least thrice. The first time, they cried, "Who is the one who rises from the desert like a fragrant mist?" Then they questioned, "Who is the one who presses forward like a nascent dawn?" Finally they asked themselves, "Who is the one who arises from the desert, fulfilled with delights?" "Why would the angels insist so much upon the name of their Queen? It may be," Richard de Saint Laurent replied, "that they just wanted to hear the very sweet name of Mary."
